Why a chair massage at
you at work?
A Thai chair massage is an ideal and meaningful way to show your appreciation and commitment to your employees. It gives them the feeling that attention is also being paid to their health during work. A chair massage is the excellent way to take a moment of relaxation in a busy and stressful time. In addition, massage can ensure that the body can process stress and tension better. It not only helps you relax but is effective in resolving work-related complaints such as RSI. Repetitive Strain Injury are mainly joint and muscle related complaints of the head, back, neck, shoulders, arms, wrists and hands. These are the areas of the body that are most subject to stress.
What is a chair massage
The head, neck, shoulders, back, arms, wrists and hands are massaged in a comfortable way through manual pressure point massage. The knots at these points are massaged loose. Massaging these knots can be experienced as painful for a while, but soon the pain will give way to a pleasant, loose and relaxed feeling. A chair massage only lasts a maximum of 20 minutes and can be seen as a quick fix. Because it is given on clothing, this can come across as low-threshold. The employee does not have to “expose himself”.
Benefits of a chair massage
Chair massage is not only good for relaxation. The massage improves the functioning of the blood circulation and the lymphatic system. In the short term, the massage will ensure that the employee can resume work with renewed concentration and energy. This can ensure that they can perform optimally again, which benefits their productivity. In the long term, a large number of complaints such as headaches, tense muscles and joints will decrease drastically.
A Northern Irish study also showed that a large proportion of the test subjects experienced a decrease in their complaints. The positive effect did not only affect the physical body, 80% experienced an increase in mental health and 58% experienced a boost in their quality of life.
A chair massage before, during or after the working day is the ideal boost. It's an easy way to do stress prevention. It promotes the atmosphere, employees are more relaxed and can perform better afterwards. It is the ideal way to recharge the batteries. To give the positive effects even more color, we present research by Joy Fang from 2002 into the effects of chair massage. The study is 17 years old but still applies.
This study included 17 participants with more than 79 complaints. These were both physical and psychological symptoms. In 71% of the participants, their complaints have significantly decreased or even disappeared.
The second part of the study contained tests of tension, clear thinking and the impact of work pressure. During these tests, 184 measurements were taken on the participants. These tests showed that chair massage had a positive effect on the tension level of the participants. This level had decreased drastically, the participants were again able to think more clearly and the impact of the work pressure had decreased.
In addition, chair massages are also tax-deductible, which makes it even more interesting. We can conclude that chair massages have nothing but benefits. There are various possibilities:
- You pay the full amount yourself
- You divide the costs with the employee
